Mind Sky Announces Drupal Module

Mind Sky has contributed its first module to the Drupal Open Source CMS project. Called the Event Manager, it enables visitors to a Drupal-based web site to register for events five different ways.

Beyond basic registration, individuals can: sign up for a particular role or job; participate at a particular time; or both. Individuals can also sign up to contribute one or more items needed for an event, for example, food for a pot-luck dinner.

Participants do not necessarily need to be registered users of a Drupal site to sign-up for an event. Webmasters can specify types of site visitors who can register by role. As part of the online registration process, participants receive a confirmation code that may be used to change their registration, cancel it, or to send themselves a confirmation email.

For administrators and event coordinators, the Event Manager module for Drupal can display a report that lists registered users , their contact information and available slots for each event. It can be used to track participation, determine whether there are enough volunteers, prepare for pre-event communication, or as a check-in sheet for in-person activities.

Mind Sky's President, David Hollender, says of the module,

We hope this contribution helps to advance the cause of the Drupal project and provides useful capabilities for organizations in our community.

The company has used Drupal to develop web sites for nonprofit organizations and provides online strategy, search engine optimization, web site evaluations and other services to help organizations use the Internet more effectively.

You can obtain your free copy of the Event Manager module for Drupal 5.x from its module home page on drupal.org. To see how it works, visit its demonstration site.
